Playing the Khim

One of the first Thai musical instruments that I came across is a khim. It has such a beautiful sound. It is made from wood and has brass strings. There are 14 groups of strings and each group has 3 strings each. So, in total there are 42 strings. It is played with two bamboo sticks that have soft leather at one end. It can be played alone or as part of a bigger group.

It´s such a beautiful sound. Then I was looking for some information on the web and came across your site once again. Oh boy… it seems everything I need or want to know is in your blog or tweeter account. Much metta to you! Maria
